Heather VanSaint

About

“Heather VanSaint is a London based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, set to step onto the scene in 2016 with a bold collection of dark anthemic synth-pop tunes and energetic live shows.

Her aim is simple; to straddle the line between electronic dance and indie, creating a unique and impassioned sound.

The first track “Promised land”, from newly released EP “It was worth it” is a dystopian tale of lost chances and inertia, set against a backdrop of urban decay.

The tracks that follow, are a refined mix of synthed-up pop, crisp beats and heartfelt vocal delivery, a combination that sounds as fresh on radio, as it does through broken speakers at a 5am house party.

Lyrically the music is earnest and reminiscent of an earlier story-teller style of songwriting, but the words are married with progressive musical arrangements, which makes for a thoroughly modern sound.

VanSaint is at times unashamedly indie, but throughout the tracks there are keyboard lines and melodic motifs that bring to mind the best in catchy pop.

With a rich cocktail of influences from Roxy Music to Bruce Springsteen, Chvrches to the Ramones and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to the Byrds, this atmospheric indie is packed with big ideas and rousing declarations, accentuated all the while by slick melodic beats.

She already boasts an impressive growing global Twitter following which has sprung up in a matter of months, something that clearly highlights the thirst out there for this kind of music.”
