J Lee and the Hoodoo Skulls
J Lee and The Hoodoo Skulls- dirty riffs, stomping swamp percussion and gutsy vocals are typically the stuff of biker rock legend that you'd find somewhere down an American highway. This Surrey based band blend Americana with bluesy retro vibes to create their unique brand of urban blues rock. With a sound this big, you'll have to pinch yourself to remember that they come from the UK.
This brand new band is a strong line up with big guitar riffs whilst sitting on solid drum grooves by drummer Wayne Riches (also the drummer for Skin- Skunk Anansie) and lead vocals by singer J Lee, of whom is also one of Shakin Stevens' sons, and has equally strong vocals similar to his father's which sit perfectly on their overall sound. Completing the line up are renowned producer on guitar Harun Kotch, and the award winning/previously endorsed Luke Sohl-Williams on bass.
With their debut single ‘Woman’ having gone viral, followed closely by picking up an endorsement from clothing brand PandO, they are now back with their next single ‘2 Bit Lovers’ and a solo UK tour.
"Big, powerful guitar riffs with bone shaking vocals that soar between everything from T Rex to Tom Meighan. Exhilarating. Dust down your Harley and get trashed."
"Weighty 70's tinged stoner rock that brings to mind big league players such as Sabbath, the Black Keys and Wolfmother."
Sleazy tequila-soaked rock 'n' roll riffage with tips of the cap to ZZ Top, Tame Impala and Rival Sons."
"Dripping with a pulsing, fuzzy menace and deliciously sleazy swagger."
