Jack Light

About

After being surrounded by the music and studio lifestyle through his family, Jack Light started rapping at the age of 12 and had his first track played by Mary Anne Hobbs on Radio 1. By 16 his first official video ‘The Arrival’ was released on Channel AKA and debuted at #3 on their urban chart. This then saw the release of his music video ‘Underground’. The single was licensed to the AKA compilation CD. Jack’s third track ‘Hokkien’ was played by DJ Semtex on 1Xtra where he said Jack is ‘a lyrical beast at the age of 16’.

In 2012 Jack released his mixtape ‘Train Tracks’, followed by his first EP on iTunes. Within a day it hit Top 40 in the Hip-Hop album chart. Other mix tapes include ‘The Power of Hip-Hop’ and ‘Time’. In 2013 American rapper, Asher Roth, made Jack’s remix of his track ‘Pass That Dutch’ official. Years later when Asher performed in England, he invited Jack on stage to perform.

Jack has just finished studying Music Technology at the University of Kent. During which he became the president of the Music Society and won Battle of the Bands (2015) in Medway. At the beginning of 2018, Jack has had a release on Skink Records (Showtek) and February 2018 will see the release of his brand new Hip-Hop projects and forthcoming album!
