Lulah

About

Lulah is a London based singer/songwriter, basing her material on the lives and loves of the people around her. She writes with honesty, and a focus on great hooks and meaningful lyrics.

Growing up, Lulah experimented with all sorts of musical styles, but soon found her passion for close harmonies and acoustic pop. She started writing lyrics at the age of 11, going on to study music at Southampton University, where she began to hone her songwriting skills. Taking inspiration from artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, Eva Cassidy, Judie Tzuke and more recently Ellie Goulding, Lulah's sound evolved from it's early experimental stages into something far more mature and understated.

As a singer, Lulah has performed all over the world with various groups. In 2011, she decided to focus on a solo career, giving her the opportunity to write and perform her own material on stage. She explains, "I love the intimacy that comes with performing my own songs. It's a very exposing thing, singing your private thoughts to a room full of people, but I really enjoy letting people in like that."

November 2014 will mark the launch of Lulah's debut EP, 'Stay With Me'. "It's not necessarily autobiographical,” she says “I do like to write about my personal experiences, but also those of the people I am close to.”

Lulah is currently performing in and around London, having tailored her live act into a particularly mellow and intimate experience between herself and the audience. She says of her performances, "It's fantastic to feel such a connection with the people I am singing to. Of all the things I love about performing, that is by far the most significant!"
