Taking his grandfather’s name to the stage, Samuel Idwal’s music blends modern singer-songwriter stylings with a love of ballads and shanties from old England. The past year has seen him support the likes of Pete Roe (of Laura Marling fame), Rachel Sermanni and George Ezra; freshly emigrated from Leicester to the big smoke to peddle his wares, expect myth, folklore, magic and heartbreak to the tune of one-minute-delicate, next-second-storming fingerpicking.
