PEERLESS PICK OF THE WEEK: GWEN AND THE GOOD THING

Gwen and the Good Thing experiment with original, atmospheric alt-pop that has placed them on a pedestal amongst emerging UK talent. The fusion of soul-stirring vocals, anthemic choruses and infectious rhythms warrants their unique songwriting and performance. With influences of trombone, clarinet, trumpet, sax and synth, this 6-piece, Milton Keynes based band, push the boundaries of the genre.

Since their formation in late 2014, Gwen and the Good Thing have already graced the stages of many reputable London live music venues including the Camden Assembly, Borderline, Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen and The Garage (Downstairs) and were selected the play the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury 2016.

Their Kickstarter crowd-funded debut single ‘See My Girl’ was BBC Introducing Track Of The Week on BBC 3 Counties Radio and picked for both the Unsigned Guide’s Spotlight blog and for Best of British Unsigned. The single received both ‘New and Noteworthy’ and ‘Pick of the Day’ accolades. Following the success of their gigs and releases, the band has received BBC Radio 1 airplay from the inimitable Huw Stephens.
