HOT VOX - East Street Tap (The Alternative Escape)

It was with great pleasure that last weekend HOT VOX hosted their own afternoon showcasing the finest in up and coming talent from around the UK, at the newly renovated East Street Tap, for The Alternative Escape.

Setting the bar high early on was Brighton based alternative folk outfit, Common Tongues. Reminiscent of Metronomy at times then Stornoway the next, Common Tongues certainly provided an excellent opening set.

Jack Garratt – Cargo – 04/12/14 Review

Despite foraging through my vocabulary, I have been left with no choice but to open this short piece with a simple statement; Jack Garratt is a truly impeccable musician and I implore everybody to witness his phenomenal talent.

Last night’s PEERLESS event was certainly one not to be missed. Clearly the audience agreed as the event was completely sold out days in advance! The atmosphere was almost tangible as The Old Queens Head rapidly reached full capacity and spirits were high backstage as the talented artists prepared to grace the stage. The main attraction was Norwegian singer-songwriter Dagny, performing her first headline show in London, supported by Dead Cannons, Ella On The Run and Officer.

Groundation + Rebelution + By The Rivers @ The Garage 5th November

This year my bonfire night was slightly different to the traditional one. Whilst everyone was out watching fireworks shows and giant flames engulfing poor old Guy Fawkes, I was stood in The Garage, Highbury, watching the best gig I've been to all year. From the moment I bought my ticket I knew that it was going to a brilliant night, and it 100% lived up to my expectation.
