Belleville are meant to be a lo-fi alt-country band but get carried away with distortion pedals from time to time. Their eponymous debut album was described as "a gorgeously minimal approach… overdriven but melodic guitars are used for bedding harmonies straight out of the american loose-lipped and low-slung underground" by Rough Trade and "a healthy mix of indie-country-blues-lo-fi rock in its greatest nuanced quietly distorted form" by Camden New Journal. They're currently recording album 2 at a ramshackle little studio in the heady wilds of Dalston, East London.
