About

Black Cart re-formed in 2016 after over 35 years. We got together as we all knew we had so much more to give in our music. Since then we have been writing new material and producing the latest songs. We have a grounding in rock influenced by the legends of Pink Floyd, Genesis whilst sucking up the influences of more modern rock artists to give our music a more contemporary feel, unique style in some of our accapello sections whilst maintaining UK rock traditions. A unique sound. Our first single is due to go out in May this year following an extensive media campaign due to begin in March. Ray Dickson-Lead Guitar Ray, a pupil of The Songwriting Academy, first picked up a guitar in about 1974/75. He has played music festivals across Europe and the UK including the prestigious Matthew Street Festival in Liverpool. He has over 18 years been part of the renowned Queen trib-ute band, Queen B and is now concentrating on original material! Les Forrest-Vocals and Bass Guitar Les has been playing in bands since he and Ray first played together over 40 years ago! His working career means he has travelled extensively but this allowed him to play in various bands as far and wide as India, Korea and even Vietnam. John MacColl-Keyboards and Harmonies John is one of the band’s founder members and at that time he played guitar in addition to keyboards. Comfortable in many musical genres, he is relishing the excitement of play-ing regularly again. John still lives just a stone’s throw from the church hall where the band used to practice every Sunday! Gordon Provan-Guitar and Harmonies Gordon was one of the founder members of the band back in the ‘70s. His versatility has allowed him to play electric and acoustic guitar, occasionally keyboards and he even had a stint on bass! Gordon has been a major contributor to the band’s writing. Les Poultney-Drums Having previously worked with Ray Dickson in some well-known covers acts Les has gigged Blenheim Palace and other prestigious venues. Les is the latest addition to Black Cart and is looking forward to contributing to the band’s original material.
