David Neil Crabtree

About

As well as fronting bands across venues, festivals and broadcast events across his beloved county of North Yorkshire and beyond – David Neil Crabtree is fast emerging as a contemporary and highly versatile music talent, with a loyal and rapidly developing fan base spanning Country, Contemporary, Blues, soft and heavy Rock music genres. His current performance catalogue is varied and prolific – from his recent EP release, Girl Named Whisky (available on Spotify) with its contagiously melodic lilt in the gallic, love-ballad tradition, through to the raw, unsettlingly vengeful narrative that underpins his popular and well-acclaimed Wildfire (available on YouTube). Dave’s vocal and guitar expression reflects his own, at times, painful journey through manhood and through the landscapes, at home and abroad, that inspire him constantly to create, compose and perform – for camera and for stage. Of his own music and influences, Dave says: “I am constantly drawn to relate, through lyrical expression and music composition, almost everything I feel and witness around the emotions that innately bind (or indeed separate) us as human beings; whether we experience new love, the awe of a landscape, nostalgic reflection, or whenever we suffer loss. Whether we feel hurt – or redeemed – in life. “We stand in the long shadows of musical giants – both past and present. I’ve been lucky enough to find myself inspired, rather than intimidated, by their greatness. As the next generation of musicians, poets and singer/songwriters, I believe our ‘calling’ lies in keeping alive their art and spirits, whilst giving unique expression to the voices, experiences, dreams and preferences of emerging generations of music enthusiasts and followers around the world.”
