Friends from school, FlashFires have a unique bond that shines through in their song writing and their live shows.  Despite being only 19 years old, they are writing tunes that their older peers can only dream of, a bold statement perhaps, but one that is fully justified. Sitting somewhere on the indie/rock spectrum, their own self-proclaimed brand of Fire Indie Disco, FlashFires are here to have a good time and everyone is invited.

Unrestricted by genre, the band are all music fans with eclectic tastes and are not frightened to take risks and test out different styles and sounds in their compositions.

The band have been playing the local South Coast venues and started to amass a loyal following and this has led to slots at the Alresford Festival, Blissfields and a headline slot at the B’Stoke Live show last year. Lead singer Alex sums it up by saying “We have been moving to bigger and better things recently, the hunger and drive in the band keeps us moving forward all the time”.

Signing up with South Coast independent label Angry Badger Records in May 2013 after catching their attention with the ManShark track in 2012, plans were quickly put in place to record their debut album.

FlashFires set off for J Street Recording Studios in California at the start of September 2013 to work with Brian Wheat, bassist with US rock legends Tesla who over their 30 year career have amassed more than 20 million record sales Worldwide.

Initially hired to produce the record it soon became clear that Brian was keen to work with the band further, put simply he stated “I recognised their tremendous talent and potential”.  Brian expressed an interest in co-managing the band with Jules (Angry Badger Records) during their recording session and the plans were formally put in place in late 2013 with the contracts signed in February 2014.

The first single ‘Circus Boy’ is due for release on the 17^th November as a digital download and the accompanying video is out now and received over 1000 plays in the first 24 hours.

The single has been mastered at Abbey Road by Frank Arkwright (Blur / The Smiths / Joy Division) and will be followed by an EP in early 2015.
