LAKY happily sits on the calmer, cooler side of pop. Her country and soul undertones, alongside her clever lyrics, bring a raw maturity to her songs. Mix that in with her hook-driven melodies and unique vocal and you’re on to a winner. Growing up with musical parents, most of her inspiration stems from eclectic 70s and 80s music. If you look through her record collection you would find classics like; Earth Wind and Fire, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Joni Mitchell and even Dolly Parton. More recently you can catch her listening to musicians such as; Jade Bird, Christine and The Queens, John Mayer, and LP to name a few. Having recently changed her artist name from Kyla Stroud to LAKY, she is discovering and creating a whole new sound, as well as writing more than ever before. You won’t find a lot online (Yet!) but be sure to keep an eye on this humorous 24 year old.
