About

I have been writing songs since singing with two tone band Eye Witness featuring master the drummer Jimmy Scott (aka Obladih Obladah), as well as with a variety of jazz and rock bands around London. Influenced by the variety of musical genres, I heard whilst travelling through Asia, Australia, across the Pacific, USA, and the Caribbean, I returned to the UK to work as a community musician, teacher and therapist, whilst developing a performance career with my seven woman band ‘Just Desserts’, Folo Graff’s Afro fusion band Ickmme, Adesose Wallace’s Nigerian band Ibile and various jazz artists. A long time lover of roots reggae’s conscious lyrics and infectious rhythms, I met percussionist and arranger Brother James Trinidad at a Burning Spear concert. This began a collaboration which has resulted in a thirteen track album: Reggae Dove In Flight which is to be relaunched later this year. The genre has been described as Roots Rock Reggae Cultural Urban Fusion. I have been recording in London and overdubbing, mixing and mastering in New York. My New York Chapter musicians include Brian Jackson (of Brian Jackson and Gil Scott Heron project) on flute, keyboards and backing vocals, and Ronny Drayton (producer fro Nona Hendrix). My London Chapter musicians include Trevor Murrell on drums (Wham, Sade) Gus Isidore (Seal, Phil Lynott) and Kevin Armstrong (Bowie, Thomas Dolby) on guitars, as well as some of London’s finest reggae musicians including with some of London’s top reggae musicians including drummer Carl Benjamin and keyboard players Carl Gentles, Cleveland Neunie and Cyrus Richard, Barry Dread, Dave Brooksy Brooks and Ann-Marie Winross on bass, James Shephard and Marcin Bobkowski on guitars and special guest on bass clarinet on the track Mr Bojangles, Alan Wilkinson.
