please completeComprising of Alfie Crews (vocals/rhythm guitar/songwriter), Esat Gokcen (lead guitar), Digby Ovenden (drums) and Yanni Manussis (bass), The Riversiders formed within their West-London Sixth Form College. Having been close friends before the creation of the band, the easy chemistry between them resonates with the audience at their regular live shows, creating an atmosphere that is welcoming and intimate whilst maintaining the band’s signature high energy feel. They bring a new twist to the indie-rock scene with their raw, individual sound that makes their tracks simultaneously original and recognisable. The Riversiders draw from many influences including The Kooks, the Arctic Monkeys, Cage the Elephant, Catfish and the Bottlemen and The 1975 from the indie-rock genre as well as from pop jazz artists such as Tom Misch, going as far as classic rock bands such as Led Zeppelin and Queen.
The Riversiders are constantly working on new material, building up a loyal following for their original songs as well as floor-filling cover favourites. With a warm yet energetic sound, The Riversiders make music that will keep the streamers streaming, listeners listening and the audience participating in the active atmosphere that they create on stage.
The Riversiders’ first official single ‘Homesick’ is about yearning for a lost love, or an absent lover, and the tension between wanting to express those feelings while being shy to admit to them. Avoiding cliché, the memorable lyrics come from the heart and will immediately engage the audience. From the opening hook to the subtle vocal harmonies and passionate guitar solos, this original take on the classic indie rock sound charges the well-structured and catchy song with pathos.
