Who are The Horizon Club?
We are from all over really, Newcastle, Wales, Lithuania and Uruguay to be precicse. We have come together in London to make some music. We have actually been going since winter but this will be the first gig with our new line up.
If you had to describe your sound using just five words, what would they be?
Grungey Bluesy Indie Rock’n’Roll.
Who are your biggest influences musically?
We have a load of influences across the board between us, but we share love for lots of the same bands.
Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, RHCP, Arctic Monkeys, QOTSA to name just a few.
What’s your songwriting process?
Usually someone brings an idea to the table and if we jam it and it’s got legs, it’s just a matter of tweaking, developing and perfecting it into a track we are proud of.
When you were younger, what was the first album that blew you away and you remember putting on repeat non-stop?
Blood, sugar, sex, Magic.
As a performer, what’s your biggest claim to fame so far?
We prefer hiding in plain sight.
If you could go on tour with any current band or artist, who would it be and why?
The Arctic Monkeys look like they have a laugh don’t they?
If you could put your dream team band together consisting of any musicians from the past or present who would the band members be?
A different era Dave Grohl on every instrument.
How would you describe your live show to someone who has never seen you perform before?
Lots of fun and energy, we don’t take ourselves to seriously.
Do any of you have any pre-gig or post-gig rituals? If so, what and why?
We are just happy if everyone turns up at the right venue to be honest.
What would your ultimate rider be if you could have anything without being accused of being a diva?
A crate of haribo.
