HOT VOX POP QUIZ WITH LAST CHARADE
Who are Last Charade?
We are an indie pop London based duo, lead by Danny Pape's catchy heartfelt songs.
Who came up with the band name and does it have a story or any meaning behind it?
I (Danny) came up with it, sadly it has no real meaning though. We just thought it sounded mysterious and rolls off the tongue nicely.
Who are your biggest influences musically?
The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Elvis, The Strokes, Johnny Cash, Arctic Monkeys and Bowie to name a few.
What’s the band's biggest claim to fame so far?
When we were a 4 piece, we played at the o2 Greenwich. Not on the main stage (maybe one day) but still a great experience.
What’s your songwriting process?
It varies really, sometimes a tune just comes in my head so I record it on my phone (even in the most random places - I have almost 2 thousand voice memos on my phone!) Sometimes I write the lyrics first and come up with a tune around it. But most of the time, I just play around on the guitar and an idea stems from that.
If you could go on tour with any current band or artist, who would it be and why?
Arctic Monkeys because they are one of the best bands on this planet. They continue to re-invent their sound with every album but still manage to maintain their identity. Not many can pull that off.
If you could put your dream team band together consisting of any musicians from the past or present who would the band members be?
Keith Moon - Drums
David Gilmour or Hendrix - Lead Gtr
Paul McCartney - Bass
Elvis - Vocals
How would you describe your live show to someone who has never seen you perform before?
Do any of you have any pre-gig or post gig rituals? If so, what and why?
Does drinking count? Sometimes I kiss my plectrum.
What would your ultimate rider be if you could have anything without being accused of being a diva?
I'd love to be handed a different guitar for every song on stage. Not from a sound perspective, just that it would look really cool.
This question is for all band members. If we were to browse your music library what is the most embarrassing song we might find? Or who is your guilty pleasure artist?
Will likes Let it Go from Frozen. I personally hate it - sorry Will.
I have a soft spot for the Sugababes, they actually made some decent songs (at least one or two!)
Tell us one thing your fans would be really shocked or surprised to hear or learn about the band
We met at school so have known each other since we were 12 years old!
If people want to check you out online where is the best place to go?
Finally, What does the future hold for the band?
We have recently recorded an album which is not far from release. We also have some great gigs in the diary, so exciting times ahead!
