PEERLESS PICK OF THE WEEK: JAZZ MINO
As you’ll notice from the array of changing colour that accompanies every new release, Jazz Mino is bringing vibrancy and energy into the alternative pop scene. Mino writes, sings and performs with an expressive approach that captivates each and every audience.
Born in Manchester, raised in Somerset and now living in London, the influence of the variety of cities and cultures she has immersed herself in is thoroughly reflected in her music. She uses her platform to access a society that is affected by equality, diversity and mental health issues in the most positive of lights, and took part in a UK tour of schools to support her message and ensure that young people are aware, comfortable and knowledgeable in these issues.
Jazz Mino’s first single, the pink themed ‘The Love of You’ kick started her career and targeted a demographic that resonated with her message of self-love. The orange themed ‘Crush’, which achieved over 1 million hits on YouTube alone, caught the attention of former streaming VP at Warner Brothers Record, Kieron Donaghue.
The songstress has achieved roaring success on Spotify with two of her singles being added to the well-loved Chilled Pop Hits playlist. In under a month she has accumulated over 300,000 streams on her latest single ‘Warriors’. Blue themed ‘Warriors’ epitomises feel-good pop, with Mino’s empowering lyrics and upbeat melodies, the track appeals to the masses, evident from its ongoing success.
