KOLO

About

Kolo are three chaps called Jon, Steve and Dani.

Originally born as a three piece in Exeter in 2006 when Jon Burnell wrote a bunch of songs about ‘all the tramps and slightly weird people who come into the record shop’, the band played some 200 gigs before being offered a support slot with American band 3 Doors Down after a phone call while Jon was quite literally cleaning toilets.

They went on to perform at the O2 academies throughout the UK including the O2 in London. Kolo recorded their debut EP with British producer Sean Genockey at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales with the EP being mixed by the incredible producer Kirk Kelsey before embarking on a combined excellent adventure and bogus journey across the US, and shifting some 4000 copies, playing with bands including Mr Hudson, The Rifles and Infadels. They were also personally invited by Embrace to perform with Scouting for Girls at the very stylish Proud Galleries in London.

Influenced by the storytelling of great British bands such as The Smiths, The Jam, and Stereophonics, and sporting a rather large rock sound, the boys look forward to sweating/dancing/puking all over stages across their new London home.’
