Sandtimer is a British folk-rock group formed in Hampshire by musicians Robert Sword and Simon Thomas. Featuring close vocal harmonies, percussive guitar rhythms and intricate, Appalachian-infused guitar textures, Sandtimer sing songs of reflection and escapism. They strive to combine innovative, leftfield ideas with classic songcraft to create something at once unique and familiar. Since forming, Sandtimer have toured Western Canada, released 2 EP’s ‘Different Seas’ and ‘Mackerel’, and have had their tracks featured by stations such as BBC Radio 6 and BBC Introducing, attracting high praise from Welsh folk singer Frank Hennessy and luminaries across the blogosphere including popular playlist creator Alex Rainbird.
