Songs that know drinking don’t stop the thinking and admit that betting only yields brief forgetting.

The Early Swerve is the creative partnership of best mates Dave Mackinnon (music) and Essex Moorcroft (lyrics). 

Their unique sound is an eclectic mix ranging from Skiffle, Latin Jazz, film soundtracks and 60’s British Invasion bands. The lyrics are darkly comic contemporary narratives, taking inspiration from shady local characters and barstool fables.

As a live act, they combine blistering vocal harmonies with a ragged skiffle aesthetic.
