We believe the humble music video is a seriously underappreciated art form. In our opinion, nothing makes you feel quite as immersed within an artist’s music – actually, you can’t beat a live show atmosphere for full immersion but we’re definitely biased there.. Our ONE TO WATCH series aims to bring you the latest music videos from some of our most exciting new artists.
Today’s One To Watch is DOPAMINE by UMNIA
UMNIA is armed with a crystal clear voice and sharp pen. An Internet native, she wields full creative control, self-producing and engineering her work since age 11, and drawing soul-deep inspiration from the likes of Prince and Whitney Houston, with a GenZ-styled bedroom Pop twist.
Vulnerably exploring the depths of ambition, avoidance, and isolation, with a sprinkling of sharp political observation, her music has been championed by Rebecca May and Matt Plumb at BBC Introducing Cambridge, and been featured in IGGY Magazine, who said of her single “DOPAMINE” that “The quality of the production and realization gives way to the expression of a rare talent that is expressed, very simply”.
