SIGNING UP

Performers can sign up and reserve a performance slot in advance by clicking HERE.

If a slot is reserved in advance, performers must arrive at the venue at least 10 minutes before performances start to reconfirm their slot with the Host. Failure to do this may result in the slot being cancelled and offered to another performer. Exact arrival times will be included in your confirmation email.

Artists can also sign up in person on the night. If all slots are full, performers may be added to a waiting list. If advance sign-ups have not arrived by the time performances are due to start, available slots will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

If there are still slots available once the event has started, sign-up may remain open throughout the event.

PERFORMANCE

Performers must be aged 18 or over.

Artists will perform between two and five songs, depending on the number of performers signed up and the timings of the event. The Host will confirm how many songs each performer can play when they arrive.

The venue will provide a PA, microphone, mic stand and D.I. box. Performers must bring their own instruments and any relevant cables.

The open mic can only accommodate solo performers and duos. No drum kits or percussion are permitted.

The Host may film a short clip of each performance and add it to the Hot Vox Instagram story for voting purposes. By signing up and performing, artists agree to their performance being filmed and shared on Hot Vox social media for this purpose.

VOTING

Voting is done by a simple ballot vote on the night during the event. Music fans and those in the room can collect a voting slip from the Host and will be asked to vote for their two favourite performers on the night.

Fans can also add additional votes by leaving a Heart ❤️ reaction on their favourite artist’s performance clip in the Hot Vox Instagram Broadcast Channel for that event.

Each vote received via a voting slip is worth 5 points. Each individual Heart ❤️ reaction received on an artist’s performance clip in the Broadcast Channel is worth 1 point. Other emoji reactions will not be counted as votes.

Only Heart reactions received before the voting cut-off will be counted. The voting cut-off will be confirmed by the Host on the night.

In the event of a tie, the prize money will be split equally between the winning performers.

PRIZE

The performer with the most points at the end of the event will be announced on stage at the end of the night.

The winning performer will receive a £100, paid by BACS.

To receive payment, the winning artist must email an invoice totalling £100 to Hot Vox Entertainment, The Old Rectory, Church Street, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 8DE. Please do not post the invoice.

Payment will be made within 30 days of Hot Vox Entertainment receiving a valid invoice.

Invoices must include the artist’s full name, address, stage name, event date, venue name and an invoice number. We will not accept invoices that are missing this information.

All artists are engaged on a self-employed basis and are responsible for their own tax and National Insurance liabilities.

Performers can take part in the open mic each week, but they can only claim the cash prize once per calendar month.

Hot Vox and the participating venue reserve the right to change the format, timings, voting process, prize structure or other parameters of the event and competition, within reason, at any point.

Hot Vox reserves the right to refuse any performer a performance slot at its own discretion.
