Making Waves today is Sam Macdonald!

A singer songwriter with influences stretching from rock ’n’ roll to West Coast hip-hop, Sam previously “did the band thing” before striking out on his own with energetic, warped songs in the style of Lee Mavers, Captain Beefheart, Paul Weller and The Coral.

Being born and raised in Carlisle, he took inspiration from friends who went on to form a number of bands, the most notable being psych aficionados The Lucid Dream. For Sam, whatever comes across as authentic, gritty and melodic is usually going to strike a chord (no pun intended).
