Matthew Ridley

About

A singer-songwriter from South London, Matthew Ridley started playing solo gigs around pubs and clubs whilst still in school, spurred on after nights spent bustled in at the back of the room of The Easycome acoustic club in Peckham, listening to the likes of Andy Hank, Benjamin Folke Thomas and Trevor Lee.

Matthew grew up listening to everything from John Coltrane and Bert Jansch to Prefab Sprout and King Crimson. Although, Matthew takes his biggest lead from classic acoustic singer-songwriters like John Martyn, Nick Drake, Tim Buckley and more modern contemporaries like Bon Iver, Phoebe Bridgers, Ryley Walker and many more.

Matthew will soon be releasing his EP ‘Sink & Swim’.
