Ella Sutton is a quirky songwriter from the sleepy Welsh town of Monmouthshire.
Her love of UK hip hop and artists such as ‘The Streets’, ‘Jamie T’ and ‘Kate Nash’ have inspired Ella’s exciting urban lyrical content.
As an artist, Ellas songs are greatly based on her love of lyric writing and she takes time to think about the language she uses. This shows her sparky, playful almost childlike approach to adult situations such as peer pressure, alcohol, travelling and love, in ways unexpected.
Sutton has been described as “vulnerable yet daring” when performing on stage and her unique use of the loop pedal and beautiful accomplished flute melodies and improvisation have made her a largely compelling, fresh artist.
Ella is currently giggling and gigging around London, particularly in the enchanting area of Shoreditch. She currently lives in North London, close to the university she attends for a three year degree course in songwriting at the ‘Institute of Contemporary Music Performance’.
Coming from a quaint and hazy yet lovely little town, to a bustling vibrant zippy city, Ella’s sheltered lifestyle supplies adorable, unusual lyrics, smashed together with urban rhythms and a sprinkling of flute, that fuse together to make a wonderful new genre.
