The idea of The Tens first sprung to fruition on a sunny afternoon in July 2011 when three friends, singer/songwriter Jonny Perrins, guitarist Charlie Harris and bassist Dave Harris met for a jam on a field near Portsmouth. From that day onwards the trio forged an unbreakable songwriting bond, slumming it around London and the south of England playing anywhere and everywhere they could, bunking trains and sleeping on floors all in the name of rock n roll. After much heartache, disappointment and various comings and goings of band members, in June 2014 the trio discovered their missing link in drummer Brad Ames-Thomson. Armed with an arsenal of raucous rock n roll anthems the band began to get to work in the practice room. A couple of months later they made their debut to a packed out Star Inn in Guildford gaining instant notoriety and rave reviews for their high energy, swagger filled performance. From then on the group continued to play more shows packing out venues such as The Boileroom in Guildford and The Barfly in Camden sending crowds into a frenzy wherever they went, they were even invited back to The Barfly to play their New Years Eve party in conjunction with XFM. So far in the New Year the band have bagged support slots with great up and coming acts such as NME 2015 ones to watch Demob Happy, Brighton grunge rockers, ‘Tigercub’ and Dubliners, ‘Raglans’ and with a first single, ‘My Prison Cell’, on its way to completion in the studio it’s becoming clear that 2015 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the lads.
