Italian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Valeria Pozzo grew up surrounded by music. Inspired by her mother who is a classical pianist, Valeria picked up the violin at age 6. She also soon shared her father's love and appreciation for singing, guitar and contemporary music. Classically trained in Violin at the Venice Conservatory “Benedetto Marcello”, Valeria has been playing the professionally with several orchestras since a young age.
In 2007 Valeria had the great opportunity to become a vocalist of one of Italy’s best renown vocal group, the “Luca Pitteri & VGE Vocal Project”, with whom she often appare on Italian TV shows and theatres.
Valeria was invited to perform for the Italian Embassy in Karachi in 2008 for the Gala Event of the First Celebration of the “Woman’s Day” in Pakistan and to play in other Gala events in Islamabad, to raise funds for the International Association “Smile Again”. In May 2014 Valeria has also been invited to perform in Lahore and to record a session for Coke Studio Pakistan, produced by Rohail Hyatt.
In 2011 Valeria moved to London and after only a few years in the UK Valeria has already had some great experiences and she had the chance to work on various projects, collaborating with many great musicians (Neil Cowley Trio, Antonio Forcione, ESKA, Nick Zinner, Josienne Clarke & Ben Walker, Rhys Lewis & The Relics, Your Correspondent), in some great venues and on Radio shows (BBC Introducing, The Barbican, The Royal Festival Hall, The Purcell Room).
In February 2014 Valeria released her debut EP ‘Here I live and Breathe’ collaborating with the Italian producer Marco Anzovino and songwriter Samantha Jones. Since the release of her album, she has been gigging regularly in the UK, in Italy, in Belgium and Spain.
Valeria is the voice of the new Peroni Nastro Azzurro Global Campaign “Vita Al Mare’, featuring an Italian/English cover of ‘Here Comes The Sun’, recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London.
