In 2016 Johnny Cage & the Voodoogroove have been gracing & glazing TV sets & eyes Nationwide on BBC4 & BBC2 for the biggest televised battle of the bands in history, making their way to the final in fine style on the show all the papers have been lauding as the best thing on the box. UK's Best Part Time Band, presented by Rhod Gilbert & paneled by Music legends Midge Ure, Jazzie B, & Peter Hook saw 1200 bands from England, N.Ireland, Scotland & Wales, compete for the title, & the Voodoogroove took it all the way to the final 6, winning accolade from the Guardian, The Observer & the New Statesman.

Hot off the heels of the show the Voodoogroove have been recording their debut album 'Spirit Animal Superstar Signals From The Electric Boneyard' with Music Producer legend Paul Durrant who's credits include Manic Street Preachers, Catatonia, Funeral For A Friend & Super Furry Animals. Due out in September it is an album of electrifying brilliance & Paul himself has decreed it his finest work.
