Scarlet Kite are a quirky blues-folk collective making edgy acoustic music with soulful vocals and their own harmonic twist.
Lead singer Ruby Delby sings from the heart about fury, lust, disintegration, fear, hope and beauty in London today, enhanced by a variety of guitar styles and diverse wind and stringed instruments. Her songs have been getting some air play recently from BBC London Introducing, who described her as an "incredible artist" who is "sounding blissful".
Nina Macpherson produces beautiful harmonies and fine, finger-picking guitar or solid, lilting piano bases. Emily Johnson's beautiful stringed melodies further enhance their sound, with the flourishes from Karen Devereux's flute dynamics.
Scarlet Kite have worked hard to develop their own, original sound and have performed at a wide range of London venues. A debut EP is due for release this summer, gaining recognition from New York based label Factory Fast Records and a variety of digital and FM radio stations.
