Evoking a David Lynch-esque atmosphere, HVMAN has evolved, with the addition of D Ari’s effortlessly soaring vocals, into a Steampunk-fuelled electro-blues band. Delivering cinematic soundscapes and big bold songs that pluck heart strings and leave a guitar-driven chorus-heavy aftertaste; influences are wide and varied encompassing the likes of Campbell & Lanegan, Talking Heads, CousteauX, Tom Waits and Johnny Cash. D Ari’s powerfully emotive voice (described by Blur’s Alex James as “tender", "touching", "beautiful” and by Planet Sounds (Ch4) as “deep and baroque”, “sublime”) is offset against Louise’s “insouciant” spoken word, creating a unique and unexpected union that intrigues and engages its audience.
