The Homing

About

The Homing are a London based alt-Country band formed in 2014. Their sound is characterised by strong vocal harmonies with an eclectic mix of folk, rock and country instruments and influences, creating a dense, dynamic soundscape that defies categorisation but evokes memories of 70s radio classics.

Front and centre is country outlaw Dani Somerside; commanding the stage with her lively performances and powerful vocals, but capable of soft moments of pathos and tenderness. Together with seasoned folkie Jill Cumberbatch (The Kittiwakes) on fiddle, Bouzouki and mandolin, electric guitarist Jon Dunn, acoustic player Julie Angelidou and rounded out by a powerful rhythm section from sometime upright and rock bass player Abraham Kane and funky drummer Rob Navratil (Ozi Ozaa), the band combine five voices and over twenty instruments on a journey from a cappella via country duets to blistering rock n roll. With occasional nods to their heroes, the sound is all their own.
