Formed in 2013, Sugarman Sam & The Voodoo Men combine classic elements of blues and blend them with the raucous power of rock. Bought together by their desire to bring back the ‘classic sounds’ of the 60’s and 70’s with original songs and a blistering live show.
Since inception the band have continued to build on their live reputation by playing gigs across the UK, delivering original songs influenced by the likes of Joe Bonamassa, Led Zeppelin, John Mayall, Eric Clapton and Free. They have completed several UK-wide tours as well as winning ‘Best Introducing Act’ at 2016’s Great British Rock & Blues Festival in Skegness and appearing at HRH Blues Festival at the Sheffield O2 Academy. They have supported such names as Ben Poole, Mick Ralphs Blues Band, 10 Years After and The Yard-birds to name just a few.
Sugarman Sam is a blues-man through and through; being brought up on a diet of high profile names like BB King, Led Zeppelin and Gary Moore to name a few, as well as taking influence from contemporary acts such as Matt Schofield, Joe Bonamassa and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. He is backed by the outfit known as ‘The Voodoo Men’; a trio of musicians who create the perfect backdrop for Sam’s guitar pyrotechnics. The debut album ‘Record Store Education’ showcases 7 powerful original songs, providing a snapshot into what is to come from Sugarman Sam & the Voodoo Men. With airplay across the IBBA and BBC radio alongside magazine features in ‘Blues in Britain’, ‘Blues Matters’ and ‘RawRamp’ the future is looking very blue for this young band.
Seeing is believing…
See You on The Road…
