OUR STORY – OUR PASSION

IAGO have arrived to shake up the creative industry.

Their aim: To spearhead a new musical movement that encompasses a wide array of elements from Pop, Rock and Fusion.
IAGO can be described as possessing the feel-good factor of Coldplay fused with the soaring melodic vocals and poignant lyrics of Kings of Leon, and inspired by the musical prowess of the likes of Toto. Together they play an impressive mix of modern rock and radio friendly pop that is accessible to all audiences.

Since their inception in 2016, IAGO have been hard at work honing in their signature sound that has proved vital in making waves in their local music scene. Located in Reading UK, the band have recorded in Pyramid and Outhouse recording studios and are looking forward to releasing their EP early this year, in what proves to be a pivotal and exiting time for the band.

The Band

Callum Thomas – Vocals

Front man.

This is immediately apparent upon meeting and hearing Callum for the first time. His natural persona and quirky humour is an absolute joy to discover and listen too.

Callum grew up listening to a vast array of music and latched onto the “singer / songwriter” staple as soon as he could. He honed his abilities with an obsession on finding and creating his own personal sound that he knew would make people sit up, listen and take note. With an incredibly impressive vocal range and a naturally dulcet tone to his voice, Callum really is a stand out musician in his own right.

Alexander Clarke – Lead guitarist / Backing Vocals
Alex is an accomplished Musician, Performer and Teacher who developed his passion for music at an early age and went on to achieve a distinction in his MMus at Royal Holloway. Last year he also went on to become the artistic director of the Berkshire School of Music: (https://www.berkshireschoolofmusic.co.uk/…).

He’s also been lucky enough to be mentored by virtuoso guitarist “Nick Hollings” as well as renowned Film / TV composers – “Brian Lock” and “Richard Pryn”. Alex is actively involved in the music scene where he performs regularly in function, worship and original bands. He also has extensive experience in arranging, composing and leading guitar ensembles. His musical knowledge has been broadened even further through exposure to music from around the world. Learning the Arabic Oud from “Ahmad Ah-Sahli” as well as taking part in Balkan ensembles has added variety to his unique musical repertoire.

Ben Perrin – Bassist / Backing Vocals

Ben brings an extremely solid and hearty rhythm section to the band. With his infectious bass lines and the ability to make anything groove, the rhythm section couldn’t be in better hands.

Growing up with music at the forefront of his teenage years, Ben discovered the love and craft of playing a musical instrument early on. He played within several bands before going on numerous tours nationwide, showing the British public exactly what he was capable of. Learning the tricks of the trade whilst on the road and getting an insight of what it truly means to be in a “hard-working and touring band”, the knowledge and insight that Ben brings to the table is invaluable.

Jamie Henderson – Drummer

Jamie is an all-round beat smith with an infectious energy that’s very refreshing and appealing to the masses.
When first picking up a pair of sticks completely by accident as a teenager, he immediately knew he had stumbled across something that would change his life forever. Soaking up as much knowledge as he could with anything and everything music related, he has since shared the stage with a wide variety of bands spanning multiple genres (Punk, Rock, Dub and even a sea shanty outfit!).
With this large pool of musical knowledge, passion and natural flair, Jamie is a driving force behind the band.

Our Songs:

Neon: Epic drum groove, an unforgettable instrumental hook and soaring harmonies intertwined with a driving bass rhythm, this song is a real attention grabber. Describing the difficult journey that we all must take in finding a place you can eventually call home.

Runaway: Americana with a British twist. A real fan favourite during live performances. A captivating melodic guitar hook, infectious synth lines, catchy vocals and a driving rhythm section that provides the bedrock for this summer anthem.

Angel: Haunting and ethereal, a poignant and expressive song delving into the differing emotional states of heartbreak and personal reflection.

Diamond: A feel good fusion tune that has its roots in jazz harmony but embodies the appeal of a modern pop song backed up with intricate playing. Perfect for a seasoned musician and the general populace.

The Future

The band will continue to perform live in Reading and the South East, with a view to perform at music festivals and venues across the UK .
