After a hugely successful first year, The Rills continue with the momentum they built in 2018 by releasing their first single of the year ‘Morning Rain’ on 18.01.19.
The band was formed when three Lincoln musicians Mitch, Charlie and Callum met Essex born drummer Mason at university. The three previously lived together in a Sheffield house share in order to hone in their songwriting talents, while also making friends in the local music scene. They made numerous demos in their living room before moving to university in London, quickly playing gigs across the country once they had completed their lineup. Having supported the likes of Sheafs, The Velvet Hands and False Heads, the band soon began to attract attention before sealing slots at Tramlines, 2Q Lincoln and a set at the famous House Party stage at Kendal Calling Festival.
The band’s various influences such as The Libertines, Buzzcocks, Arctic Monkeys and The Clash, alongside their high octane live show, have given them a notoriously Post-Punk sounding brand of melodic Indie. The first single ‘Pyro’ showed their Punk roots while second single ‘Us & Them’ exemplified the band’s ear for melody. The latest single ‘Morning Rain’ has been described as ‘huge’, ‘unique’ and ‘raw’.
