Underwoods is a project that combines electronic atmospheres with a powerful and strong alternative/new rock sound. Born of a fusion of members with different aptitudes and musical backgrounds, it carves out its own and well-defined space in the infinite distinctions of genre.
Born of the acoustic project of Edoardo Sansonne and Mirko Ragazzoni, with the arrival of Davide Broggini (drums) and Marco Ferruggiara (bass), Underwoods has become a real and proper band. The debut takes place in 2016 on the stage of the VooBstock Festival in Verbania, with guests of the calibre of “Punkreas” and “Ministri”.
After a year of live performings in the north of Italy – Kantiere (VB), Legend Club (MI), Tunnel Club (MI), Alcatraz (MI), Casa di Paglia (NO), they take part in the 2017 VooBstock Festival as opening band to one of the most popular projects of the italian indie scene: “Luci della Centrale Elettrica”. After winning Emergenza Festival Italia, the most important international contest for emerging bands, they play at the 2017 Taubertal Festival in Rothenburg, Germany, alongside bands of the calibre of Biffy Clyro and Rise Against.
This series of opportunies have influenced on the professional and artistic growth of the band, which has a Live Show, lasting 80 minutes.
On this 24th of January the first live video of the band has been published, UNDERWOODS | HEADPHONE SESSION, a session of live recording with audience in wireless headphones.
The band completed a promotional tour through Italy e Switzerland in the first months of 2018 in collaboration with Emergenza Festival, a collaboration which continued for the release of the first live album “Underwoods | Headphone Session” on the 19th of May.
During the summer period of 2018 the band had an intense activity playing in clubs like – Legend Club (MI), Kantiere (VB), Living Room (CH), Latte Più (BS), Casa di Paglia (NO), Loggia Del Leopardo (VB).
The band had the occasion also to play in several clubs and European festivals such as the Mugstock Festival (UK) and the Bute Festival (UK).
Whereas in 2019 the first record release and a tour through Italy, England, Germany, France and Spain are expected.
