Today we do a Deep Dive into Hissy Fit

Hissy Fit are an alternative rock band bringing back the stylings and devil-may-care attitude of the 70s with a 21st-century twist, helping Generation Z reconnect with rock through the bravado of hard-hitting yet sensitive vocals, the swagger of soaring guitar licks, the undercurrent of a driving bassline, and a powerful, thumping drum kit.

This 4-piece alternative rock band came into fruition at university. Members Sid Beau (lead vocals), Joe Severn (rhythm guitar), Seedy Bax (lead guitar) and Nicky Buttermilk (drums) shared a vision that they wanted to circulate to others. Through their desire to reconnect the modern generation with rock, Hissy Fit was formed.

The modern-day twist on a 70s rock approach makes for an intriguing mix. Their sound is the ultimate blend of powerful basslines, driving drumbeats and intense guitar riffs. However, they wrap all their strong instrumental patterns together with sensitive and often soaring vocals. Hissy Fit comment on the highs and lows of their experiences with hard-hitting vocals that add to the intensity of their music.

Through their music, appearance and attitude they fully embody 70s rock with that edge of punk. Their performances are always full of life and energy, it is not simply the members playing their music, but becoming one with it. You can expect their gigs to be electric. There is a magnetism emitted from the stage when Hissy Fit are performing, you will be glued to the band and constantly kept on the edge of your seat.

Hissy Fit are just beginning their journey and I cannot wait to see what they do next. They have already played multiple shows around London. Their next gig will be one you won’t want to miss.

The 29^th July 2022 will be a night to remember with the release of Hissy Fit’s debut single. The single’s release is being paired with a launch party at The Sebright Arms. The evening will create a hedonistic experience, that will leave any listener wanting more.

The new single, ‘Oh So Lovely’ is the perfect introduction to the band. It captures the essence of the band and what they intend to bring to the table. You can expect plenty of activity from Hissy Fit following their debut release. And I for one cannot wait to see what is on the cards next for the 4-piece ban
