Ned Ashcroft is full of musical surprises. Inspired by Bill Withers and Loyle Carner, gigs start with catchy pop songs before diving into snippets of rap, jazz soloing and audience sing-a-longs.He has just released Softness Vol. 1, with Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 out in 2023, and has begun to attract major label interest after his debut single, “Hungover You”, was aired with high praises on JazzFM by Robbie Vincent. Playing with a band of some of London’s leading musicians (drums, bass, guitar, sax) helps.As a recent audience member wrote of his sellout EP launch gig at Mascara Bar, Stoke Newington: “It was honestly one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen.” (reference can be provided)
