Ahmed & The Romans is a band that I discovered on my weekly jaunts into the manchester underground scene.
They’re made up of three italians and an Anglo-Egyptian frontman named Ahmed, their music is a heady mix of fuzzed out garage rock and sadistic post-punk.
Their lyrics dripped in irony and their melodies are soaked in complex garage rock n roll riffs. After their show I bumped into them at the kebab/pizza house next door. Their leader Ahmed was tucking into a donner kebab as the others all chose margerita pizzas. Watching them tear into those post-gig meals reminded me of their set, dirty, disgusting and juicy.
Book them, they’ll be good.
