Battle of the Roses

About

Battle of the Roses formed in 2010 with the intention of bringing a new vitality and potency to guitar-based alternative rock music. Citing more obvious references such as the Smiths, the Doors and PJ Harvey as well as eclectic influences including flamenco, baroque music and the films of Derek Jarman and David Lynch, Battle of the Roses have formed their own truly distinctive sound. Singer, Ben Robinson and guitarist, James Gardiner have developed their song writing partnership in a series of bands in numerous cities until they convened in London. Battle of the Roses are distinguished by Robinson’s compelling voice, often layering surreal lyrical imagery over an intense and dynamic atmosphere created by guitars, bass, drums and violin.

Their first release is titled the ‘Elephant Eye EP’.
