In 2015 Matthew decided to form a band, even though he had no band experience. He met Nick who played some rhythm guitar but had never been in a band. With Matthew on vocals they called themselves Trash Culture writing 8 songs from Matthew’s ideas. They were joined by Tim on drums and after a few guitarists Robert joined, learning how to play bass from scratch. They played their first gig in 2017. Bassist Mikey joined and Robert moved to keyboards, the band becoming Brighton Strangler. Tim quit due to tinnutis; the band recruited Steve Tinson. This line-up played their first gig in 2018, Steve managing a set despite having damaged his arm falling off a bike. They are recording a 2nd album.
