About

Born in Gloucestershire, Emily Tarry, the face behind call me em, was in love with music from a young age, especially pop. Inspired by female pop icons, she began to write her own music from as young as 8 years old. By age 13, she had won two school composition contests.

During university, Emily joined a number of choirs and became interested in choral music, winning a scholarship for singing lessons from Girton College, Cambridge.

Her music career took off during a year living in South Korea, where she was a regular performer in the bars of Gwangju. Since moving back to London, she has undertaken gigs and open mics at venues like The Bedford. Her music combines folk sounds with pop beats.
