Based in Southampton, Cassava consisting of Liam Cole, Jared Plum & Torrin Rees formed in 2016 as friends and quickly developed into the band to beat in their local scene. After a string of Sold Out Shows in Southampton Cassava have also been “The support band of choice for visiting bands” such as DMA’s, Milburn, The Big Moon, Spring King & The View. With only a few releases under their belts, the Cassava lads have already established a firm fan base. With positive write-ups from The Daily Echo & Gigslutz saying “it’s three and a half minutes of manic indie guitar and anthemic vocals.” Festival organisers billed Cassava as “In brief: Energetic, powerful rock tracks and one of Southampton’s most promising local bands.” With strong support from BBC Introducing South, with all three of their previous releases being featured on the show, Cassava are quickly getting a taste for radio airwaves. Working with Gavin Monaghan (The Sherlocks, The Editors & The Twang) in the studio, Cassava have spent the last few months recording original material. In short Cassava have proved themselves as ones to watch in their hometown. Now they're on a mission to take that status world wide.
