Conor McLean

About

Conor McLean was born in Nicosia on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. At age 11 he was performing as lead singer and rhythm guitarist with a heavy metal band and played at various venues in Nicosia.

At age 12 he started writing his own songs some of which were included in the repertoire while playing with different bands across the island.

By the time he was 15 his taste in music has broadened which led to ‘ACOUSTICA’ an acoustic solo project accompanied by occasional percussion.

Health problems in the years 2007-2008 prevented Conor from performing his planned debut solo concert as a Singer/Song-Writer. Despite the setback he remained determined and in the summer of 2008 his long awaited solo debut finally took place with a 3 hour set at Double 6 Coffee Bar in Nicosia.

Under the name of ACOUSTICA, Conor has held several LIVE Concerts at various venues across the island often accompanied by percussion.

Besides performing his own compositions Conor’s aim with ACOUSTICA is to add his own cover interpretations to a diverse genre of music. These include Soft Rock, Alternative, Reggae, Funk, R ’n B, and ‘Old School’ Classics.

He has developed a loyal group of followers whom he tries to please with a variety of songs and friendly interaction. Conor strives to take his music to a higher level. His own compositions are strongly influenced by his own ‘real life’ experiences and also those of others. Over the years he has worked on his repertoire which now includes many of his own original compositions and covers.

Conor now resides in the London, UK and continues to perform as a solo artist. He has recorded an EP comprising of 3 original compositions and has recently completed a BA in Music (Vocal Performance) at The Academy Of Contemporary Music UK
