Geneva, surprising many, is the mother of a very promising new courtship. COTTON MOUNT debut’s album « Still Life », released in Switzerland in march 2014, sound more mature than one would expect from this brand new quartet, surfing between new wave and ethereal folk-pop post-hippie. The ten titles rally juxtaposed lyrics oozing of dark and elegant romanticism, on light filled instrumentals.

“Still Life” was captured in the Fonderie Studio between 2012 and 2013 and is due for to be released on the 14 of March. The album impresses with its quality of arrangements, scope of sound and harmonic accuracy.

Sometimes trembling, often full of romantic melancholy and always full of air Cotton Mount’s pieces are stamped by the voice of Igor Varidel, singing always on the razor’s edge. Even if the four thieves admit they are fond of prog-rock, Syd Matters, Bjork or Bashung, we hear rather, listening to ” Still Life “, a less complex Radiohead , or a less hippie Midlake, or even a less shadowy Interpol.

The band Cotton Mount moved in London to defend this debut album in UK and to prepare the release of an acoustic album freshly recorded this summer in Italy.
