Fish Tank

About

Fish Tank are a three piece math rock pop band from Kent. The band formed after lead singer Ed Wetenhall and Drummer Joe Jeffcoate met during their freshers week at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2010. The two decided to start a two piece instrumental math band called 'Beerformer' purely as a joke.

They started work on original material and before long the band felt it was necessary to add a bass to their sound. In January 2011, Bass Player Joe Nash joined the band. With the new arrival and Ed taking on lead vocals, the band renamed itself 'Fish Tank' after an independent movie of the same name.

The band released their second EP "Henry" as a "pay what you want download" in January 2012,  immediately gaining praise and backing from BBC Introducing DJ Jacob Ricard who made a track from the EP "Record of The Week" on his BBC radio show. Subsequent to this, BBC Introducing asked the boys to perform at BBC Introducings 4th Birthday event at the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury and at Reading & Leeds Festival 2012.

Now based in London and surrounding areas, the band is writing new material after a brief period of silence.
