Dreamed up over a pint in the warmth of an Oxford pub during their last year of University Freddie Phoenix is the love child of childhood friends Magnus Rowbotham (Rhythm and Vocals) and Charlie Oliver (Lead Guitar). Pooling their eclectic array of influences they hoped for a band whose music would be unashamedly old school in its feel and power. With a strong emphasis on lyricism and meaning their songs reflect a love for language, guitars and dirty grooves. These tenants are similarly reflected in the name of the band which alludes to some of their favourite artists; Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Procul Harum to name a few.

That said Freddie Phoenix are very much a modern guitar band, following in the lineage of 00's bands like Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys and Foals. Expect high intensity blues rock with a lyrical twist!
