Genevieve Dawson is a singer-songwriter from Edinburgh now based in South-East London and studying at Goldsmiths following the likes of James Blake and Rosie Lowe. Her songs bring together a frank lyrical style with a warmth and soulfulness that inhabits the same alt-folk terrain as the likes of Laura Marling and Joni Mitchell. Grief, love, friendship all find their way in to these songs, which weave stories and abstract image together. Currently working on her first release and making her way around the London circuit, her music offers a fresh take on the alt-folk genre.
