HALCYON return after a 4-year break from the band, with an introspective look at how creating music has helped, hurt, and healed them during a tumultuous time in their early 20s.

The short yet bittersweet trio of tracks on Mid Season Finale, thematically look at creativity in different lights as they manoeuvre through the band’s conflicted and exhausted feelings toward writing music.

The EP makes light of the band’s constant battle against perfectionism and how it damaged their mental health and their relationship with music. The EP was written after a particular low point during the band’s lull, which, worsened by the pandemic, became a perfect storm for the group’s mental well-being.
