About
Described as ‘electronic art pop’, Inca Maps are a quintet from London, all sharing a desire to create
sophisticated and engaging music. Combining soft soundscapes with driving synth grooves and
intricate guitar work, the sound sits compellingly under the delicate voice of vocalist Matt Tilling.
In 2012, after the break-up of Cardiff-based band Three Pairs of Shoes and the completion of their
University degrees, Iain Birkett and Matt Tilling moved to London, keen to explore new sonic ideas.
After writing together for 6 months, they combined with synth enthusiasts Leo Morgan and Tim
Horne, who added their knowledge of electronic music to the fray and created the rich soundscapes
on which their first collection of songs sit.
