Kate Blossom grew up in the Blue Dandenongs, the hills on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia. She listened to her grandmother, a pianist, play her repertoire daily. Kate fell in love with music, and at the keys of that piano she soon began making up little melodies, tiny songs and simple poems.

Kate went on to study Music Performance at Melbourne University.
During these studies she began playing in bands using her fledgling collection of beloved vintage synthesizers, her wind instruments and her voice. Whilst loving greats such as The Doors, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, Janis Joplin, John Lee Hooker, Jimi Hendrix, Karen Dalton, John Coltrane, Carole King, Leonard Cohen and Billie Holiday, Kate started listening to artists like Nick Cave, The Flaming Lips, Lou Reed, Radiohead, Mazzy Star, Tom Waits, Ben Folds, Bowie, Rufus Wainwright, Beck, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Suzanne Vega, Cat Power, Arcade Fire, Bjork and PJ Harvey.
All of these artists inspired her to focus her musical output through lyrics and song writing.

Kate then decided it was time for fresh inspiration, so she moved to Europe, where she wrote streams of fresh new songs.
After recording her solo vintage keyboard and synthesizer EP, entitled "Hyper Purity", Kate moved to London in 2012.

Kate then did tons of singer-songwriter solo gigs, as well as some Jazz and Blues, and put together her Kate band.

Together they recorded Kate´s "Solo Piano Sessions – London" EP, the string quartet arrangements and the live and studio band recordings.

Kate Blossom is currently writing in the studio for her debut album. She thrives on creation and performance – so it´s a fantastic time hear her original, raw, real and stunningly refined live music.
